RIP Sophie Kinsella

I was heartbroken to see the news today that author Sophie Kinsella died at the age of 55 from brain cancer. Like many millennials, I was a big fan of Kinsella’s Shopaholic series, and in many ways that series reignited my love for both writing and reading during a pivotal time in my young life. I still have the Shopaholic series proudly on display on my bookshelf. Their candy colored spines remind me of a different time, a different place. Fifty-five is still too young, and I think that’s what I’m going to think about the most tonight. Life is short, etc. I’m tired of death but death is never tired.

Fuck cancer. Rest in peace, Sophie.
