Five Favorites for Friday

ByCrystal Parker 02/27/202602/26/2026

TGIF! Do people still say that anymore or have I just shown my millennialism? Anyway, it’s Friday and I wanted to put together a list of five things that I love that I think you might love, too. Today I’m sharing five of my favorite  YouTube videos I’ve recently enjoyed. In no particular order:

#1 One Hour Long Peaceful Relaxing Music (no AI) by With Love, Kristina

Why I Love It: I love listening to music soundscapes on YT while I work (I’m also a big fan and subscriber of the Calm app) and to set a mood, but it’s increasingly more difficult to find ones that aren’t made by AI in some way. I already like Kristina’s channel which is all about cozy living, being a SAHM, and being a writer (I can totally relate), so when I saw her put this out a while ago I knew I was going to enjoy it!

#2 Once Upon a Time is My Favorite Disaster by Ashley Norton

Why I Love It: I LOVED OUAT back in the day when it aired (young Jamie Dornan from S1 can get it anytime) but fell out of love with it somewhere around the time they did the Frozen arc, maybe even when they had all the wicked queens sometime after Peter Pan? I don’t actually remember it’s been so long, but I watched Ashley’s deep dive and it reminded me of two things: why I loved the show to begin with (campy fun! Disney characters!) an why I ended up tuning out (The Charmings! So Much Green Screen! Terrible Storytelling!). And in a way I felt like it helped me complete the show and do a rewatch at the same time without committing to six or seven seasons of episodic television (back in the glory days when shows had 22 episode seasons).

#3 I’m BEGGING You to Make Zines by bre

Why I Love It: I’ve been curious about zines particularly since I started trying to re-analog my daily life, and part of me wants to make a zine or two, while the imposter voice in my head tells me it’s a waste of time. I like Bre’s video because she makes a good argument for why you should make a zine for literally any reason whatsoever. And I still might!

#4 The Problem With AD House Tours by Nick Lewis

Why I Love It: If you’ve ever watched a celebrity’s home tour and felt bad about yourself or your own home, this will relieve you of that feeling. Nick really demystifies the celebrity home tour, almost like those magicians who reveal how other magicians do their tricks. Like what do you mean Ashley Tisdale has FAKE books in her home just because it was going to be toured? That’s not real and you should absolutely not measure yourself by that standard. It’s a great watch!

#5 Marble Machine by Wintergatan

Why I Love It: Marble Machine is one of those sorta OG internet videos that you’ve probably seen but maybe forgot about. I like to return to it every once in a while – still perpetually astounded – and it holds up so well over time. The creativity, ingenuity, and imagination that went into making it (not to mention performing with it!) is nothing short of  genius in my opinion.

Happy viewing!
